v6 owners help.....

Car  Nimbus Grey 197
looking at chopping the 182 in!

guy wants to get rid of his v6 and wants a 182.

is a light cat D - apparently so minor it was almost a cat X

i just want some opinions from owners really. its an '05 and is up for £14k. would try and get a good price for the 182 in the part x and some money his way.

anyone have experiences of cat D's, all parts were bought brand new from Renault. The owner who has it now bought it as a cat D - previous owner went round a roundabout too fast and knocked the passenger side rear wheel - damaging the drive train - no panel damage - repairs only cost about £3k.
I really want to drive one first but need to find a dealer or a private garage that has one before i go and have a look at this one.

Thanks in advance guys,

Woza.

Cat d's are fine as long as its repaired properly my cup is a cat d.
Is this v6 from adam? (subway?). Car is good mate used to belong to a fella near me.

£14k is well out of the question then if he only paid £8k!!!

And yes i think it is subways - Hi Adam!

dont quote me on it but im sure there have been a few threads disputing the price hes been trying to sell at

he'll sell it for whatever some is willing to pay at the end of the day, but straight ones start at £15K

yeah i just came across that thread - maybe he would be more willing to give me a better offer now that i know what he really paid for it!!

clutch and box change is common

It's not exactly common. I can probably count on one hand the number I've heard about on V6Clio.net...

Mind you, if you abuse anything hard enough, it'll break heh.

With the vee the worst thing you can do is buy a CAT D!!! - Shiftin them is a nightmare.

Love my Vee, made the move from a 172 to a vee and it's in another league in every way...Bar the french build quality!

What difference does it make if Adam paid 8k???? If you bought a V6 for 8k would you sell it for 8k? I think Not!

Also Adam has had a fair amount of work done to this and like i said in my earlier post i knew the car before as the chap that had it before Adam lived locally to me.
At the end of the day its maybe slightly overpriced by £500 or so but im sure that could be negotiated!

Its a nice V6 yeah ok its a cat d but hey who gives a T**S ??

kind of agree.. just because he got a good deal doesnt mean he should pass it on for the same price.. if he said he bought it for 14k then no one would be saying anything

Like i said before. CS morals and the dictation of price never ceases to amaze me! Most people on here want something for nothing! In the real world it doesn't happen!

I don't think anyone is saying he should give it away though, but when you can pick up one with a prang free past for £15k now - it does make it look way over priced. Personally, I'd say more like £12k tops - but then, it's not mine and I'm not buying it so who cares :)

Dan

to be honest ANYONE on this forum would be doing the same thing as Adam! he won't sell it for what he paid for it, he's not a mug! he got it cheap and should sell it for what its worth (this is the debatable point)

how he got it for £8K in the first place i'll never know, i'd pay upto £12K for it after seeing the damage (adam has never posted the pics of the damage, and i've never seen them)

remember a cat D on a V6 can be a parking bump! £1K per pannel WITHOUT paint
