Vague Front End

  Datsun
Just wondered what everyone elses experiences of the 182's high speed handling is?

The front end on mine feels really vague at motorway speeds, very light and is quite disconcerting.

I've been used to rwd before, do you think that's all it is?

Also I've just put new rear tyres on & swapped the front and back wheels around. I've noticed now a vibration through the steering wheel above 70 but it goes away at 90. Balancing issue?

Car's going in to get checked next week.. if nothing shows up it'll be sale time! I feel a return to rwd coming on

At least you are giving it a chance by looking into it. I've owned four rwd cars before my clio of varying power and the feeling of being pulled around corners rather than being pushed took a couple of decent jouneys to get used to.

I must admit I never really noticed the steering being much different on the motory so perhaps you do need that check, I have never needed to make big enough adjustments to the steering on the motorway to actually think there is anything worse about fwd.

It might sound daft but have you checked the tyre pressures? Have you got origional wheels and good tyres fitted?

70-90 wobble proberly wheel weight issue bud..

Wheel weight as in the wee balancing weights?

Tyre pressures are at what everyone seems to recommend - 32 front 30 rear. The front of the car just feels really light and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of feedback through the wheel.

Wheels are standard 182 wheels. edited to add (cup pack)
