Valver BMC owners

  Clio 190bhp Hybrid

Dont know about a rubber adaptor. An adaptor is reguired to fit silicone hose between CDA and throttle body. BMC list an adaptor but allegedly not available.

It would be best to speak to eurostyling who I believe are the UK importers. They should be able to advise. I got an adaptor fabricated. KTEC have an adaptor made for the viper so that may do.

Great IK but an arse because of all this trouble....

  Skoda Fabia vRS

as above there is an adapter supposedly mentioned but its not available anywhere

Euro Styling ARE the importers for BMC

personally id ring K-Tec and ask them to sell you one of there adapters.......

  The Jinx

E-mailed them but not heard a peep from them. Will ring them Thurs if they still dont get back to me. Want this on for the next peaks meet.

  BMW 320d Sport

If there is an adaptor then you DEFINITELY want it. If not its a bit of a Meccano mission, youll need a load of big jubilee clips, some metal mending plate stuff, some whacking great silicone flexi pipe etc.

The results are definitely worth it on a valver, but you really do need an adapter for the throttle body.

  The Jinx

I reckon it must be a bit of pipe that bends through 90 degrees. Suppose for a tenner its better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

iv got an adaptor but i wanted it in another location so i bought some wide break ducting from DT and basically stuck that over the throttle body. worked a treat!

  Skoda Fabia vRS

Mike.......Mehdi

if you two seriously want BMCs......then i may be able to sort out a deal for you through work..........i mean your both not that far from my shop really.....£350 for two ?........£175 each.......

whats the goin rate at the moment, 190 ?

  Clio 190bhp Hybrid

I had a bargain then, place I got mine from made the adaptor from drawings I supplied, provided SFS silcone hose and CDA for less than 200 quid.

Then fitted and RRd it too.

  Skoda Fabia vRS

if you can get a part number for the adapter i should be able to get them...

oh and unless anywhere has the right one in, then there is currently a 6 week wait on SFS hoses......

  The Jinx

Carbon shielded so shouldnt matter. Allows colder air to be ducted from lower down when you run the trunking back to the front.

What do you mean? I thought the whole point of filters like these were to take cold air from the front of the car? Any air in the engine bay is gunna be warm!

SFS hose was extra. So BMC just comes with corrugated type air feed that I have running down the back of engine and forward facing. Nice tight fit for the CDA wedged in by battery. Think this is better than Viper which just sits near radiator.

So if any1 get a CDA, need adaptor fabricating, hose in correct length and bend and that is it.

Lost the details of the chaps who did mine. They specialised in Fiat Tuning. Steve Hay was one of the chaps and also a guy called Peter.

This was first fit and I was supposed to go back for replacement adaptor in stainless rather than mild steel, countersunk for nuts etc. I never did though.

CAC09070 according to what Carnoisseur put in their e-mail to me Brun.

BTW Ive got an adaptor sorted for the throttle body.

Not necessarily no. The point of them is this:

They are carbon shielded to begin with. This allows serious protection from any heat from within the engine bay.

They also have a conical sort of vortex-y thing in them to speed up and compress the air so the air is denser.

As long as you take the feed from the BMC back towards the front of the car (Ill probably use one of the gaps in the bumper that are near the fogs) then youll be alright. Plus the feed will be from lower down in the bay so will be colder.

This is the piccy off BMCs site, so presumably that rubber adaptor is indeed a short length of hose that takes it through 90degrees as shown in the piccy.

More piccys and measurements below:

Only one problem though. The k-tec adaptor has a 63mm opening, and the rubber BMC adaptor is 70mm.

  The Jinx

Right then Brun. SFS do some 90degree elbows that are 63mm and also some straight reducers from 70-63mm. Can you get these as well?

Thats a hell of a lot of piping the air has to get though before it gets to the throttle body + 180* bends arent a good idea really

  Skoda Fabia vRS

yes i can mate, however as ive said before, 6 week wait on SFS hoses at the moment

price is supply only, we dont undertake any fitting at the shop, if you cant fit an induction kit though..................theres not much hope for you lol........however ive heard it is a bit harder than normal gettin a BMC on a 16v but it does fit ive seen it before

  Fiat Coupe 20v turbo

If the BMC is 190 quid it sounds like you could go for a Viper for about a tenner more and not have any trouble with fitting/parts. Just a thought.

managed to make something myself so i dont need a BMC/viper, will post pictures up later, the price for these induction kits are stupid, no way im paying that much for fast road use! the gains are minimal/non existent compared to what i have made for next to nothing!

ok, not managed to get a pic of it on the car yet but i will, basically its a hole at the front face of the airbox, bit of ducting sealed into hole, locate the other end of ducting by the side if the radiator, bobs yoyur uncle. matched with a panel filter of some sort, im using Green, then i doubt there will be any noticeable differences between this and a BMC, except this doesnt look very good but is alot cheaper!

yeah but how much of an advantage will it have over what i ghave made? very slight if any, its all part of the marketing to get us to spend stupid amunts of money on an air filter!
