when this car was brand new,what alloys would have been on it ? L reg valver

Leedash, it depends on which phase it is. Phase 2 16v's came in on late L reg - if that's the case it should have speedline vega alloys on it, like this (they too are 15")

If yours looks like the above one you've got a phase 2, if the grille is slatted, the mirrors are smaller, the side rub strips are skinny, the rear wiper isn't a smooth curved piece of plastic & it's got yellow fog lights, you've got a phase 1.
