Shouldnt stick out if its been fitted properly, i only say this as a friend has a mongoose system thats flush at the back.

Exhaust knocking is another common fault with the clios, check if the exhaust mounts are in good order, their is about 6 or 7 of them, other than that wrap it up in some sort of high temp insulation.

their is NOT 7 exhaust mounts on a Mk1 Clio system, all the way from the manifold back it only comes to a mount on the passenger side just after the centre L section, this is one big mount usually but can sometimes be 2, then the other mounts are on the backbox itself, 1 at the front and 1 at the back

Yeah mate, got two Valvers here right now and even though i was told, i had a look and in my pissed state counted 6.. Their may be NOT 7 like you say, but get off your horse big man...

i wish i had your ability to count..

as Brun says theres one mount on what i call the corner piece, and 2 on the back box, i think someone may be wrong..

it wouldn't be poking out cos of the problem you had with the manifold would it? maybe the manifold isn't on right and pushing the exhaust further out??? just an idea....

nope, the manifold is fixed and sitting properly, after a nose about they all seem to stick out abit, my cut bumper isnt making it look any better, think ill be putting my other bumper on

Ive learnt to live with a knocking exhaust now, tried so hard to sort it out-to no avail!

My mongoose exhaust system is the shittest exhaust I've ever had the displeasure of having.

It sticks out, it knocks, and it sits too low to the ground and could really do with an extra hanger just before the decat to hold it tight.

I am looking for an alternative now. I think custom is the only way, sadly.

It might be my decat pushing it out perhaps.

I know this probably isn't related, but my aftermarket exhaust on the RT banged and hung quite bad around the cat section and that was simply because there were not enough mounts to hold it properly. Stupid French design! Went to a decent local garage and £110 later had it fitted perfectly, with some extra mounts and everything! Even had a nice new downpipe fitted to help. :) So perhaps that's all that is needed here????
