Valver MPG

  RB Clio 182

I usually get 300-330. Ive never been able to go a whole tank without enjoying myself tho so im sure its capable of much more if u drive slower :D

Id say yeah! Ive done 120miles on 1/4 of a tank this week. Been driving it like a girl though and keepin it below 4rpm when i can!

3/4 of a tank is 30 litres i think. So you are doing approx 27mpg, which if you are driving normally is not great. Of course this isnt an exactly accurate way of measuring it as im guessing your going by the fuel gauge. Also loads of other factors can effect mpg....

i used to see 400miles in my previous valver - since my Engine convertion im lucky to see 350miles :( think my chip may have something to do with that tho.

Matt16v - you must drive like a right c**k if you only see 250 to a full tank ;) , thats un heard off unless you have a fuel leak.

Looks like thats all Ill get from this tank and thats driving it conservatively and only taking it over 4500rpm occasionally.

"c**k" is bit harsh!!

Just prefer to keep the revs up or it barely moves!

Never seen 300 miles on a clock, not in my dads 1.8 16v Escort, not in my old 1.4 RT and not in my valver.

I can just about squeeze £30ish quid in there, sometimes £35 (depends how low I was to start with obviously)

Reckon if I drove it till it physically run out of juice it still wouldnt get near the 300 mile mark. Regardless of what I say theres no way do I do a couple of hundred miles at 7,200 rpms so probably fair to say "average it out"

I may have to try this a little more intensley now just to see if it is possible!

If there is a leak I dunno where its going cause theres nothing on my garage floor!

Yeah, could be cause I weigh 15 1/2 stone and am soooo fat I weigh the car down too much!

If I want my car to be faster I should go on a diet to increase the p/w ratio!

hmmm!

My mate cant seem to get over 250 miles?!!? and thats when hes driving normally & ragging it!

he says hes taken it easy on a tank and got 250 miles and driven it hard and got 200miles out of it?!

and one tank he actually managed to get 180miles out of it!

but his piston rings are fooked or somet and its burning ALOT of oil... but i dont know if that has anything to do with it?

Im happy if i get 180miles per tank but then again, that is flooring it everywhere and is mainly town driving.

Drivin from isleworth to north wales we got well under 150 miles out of the tank, and there was a strong smell of petrol. Since discovered that the injector ril was lose and 2 injectors were pissin fuel all over the engine, might be a bit more econimical now its fixed. (and safer)

If you get 300 miles to a 9 gallon tank, then youre doing about 33mpg.

I used to get 300-350 miles to the tank of my old Valver with normal driving, being about 33 to 39mpg.

The Willy is a fair bit worse for some reason. Id be lucky to get 300 miles to a full tank.

How accurate are the fuel guages in valvers? Ive got under a quarter of a tank left of the 1st full tank since I bought the valver and done 182 miles so far.

Got a 1.2, usually get around 250-300 to a tank, and thats without excessive driving, usually take it to about 3k each gear change. As standard would do about 350 to a tank, but now i have a de-cat and K&N, and backbox well...

But then the 1.2 has a slightly smaller thank than a valver, 3 litres if i remember correctly

I drove from Scotland to London once all the way at 55mph in the Valver! I got 420 miles from the tank on that run, which is about 47mpg. The needle on Valvers and Willys stays glued to full for about 100 miles, but then drops really quickly - especially after half way.

The best way to get an accurate reading is to check it when you fire her up. The gauge is affected by loads of factors when youre on the move.

I get 34 mpg even when ragging it to within an inch of its life (Fully warmed up of course) on motorway journeys but more like 30mph bumbling to and from work. This week I have managed to get alot more miles to the gallon out of my valver.....oh hang on..thats because its back at the garage!

On a score so far have done approx 150 miles and it;s not looking like going much further.

The light hasnt gone out for a while!!

For any one that doesnt know, the reserve tank is about 7 litres so can get over a fivers petrol in there.

I know this as by the end of the month I live in the reserev tank!
