Valver Problem...

I have a problem at the moment with my clio.

When i put my foot down on the gas i dont get the full potential and its very jerky.

If i put my foot down on the gas it dont go anywhere then all of a sudden it kicks in and then it starts moving.

Any ideas?

mine has recently lost power too mate - if i put my foot down it doesnt accelerate anywhere near as hard as it should - have you had the head off, disconnected the cable to the ecu? Also sounds like you could have a fuel problem, think mine is a simple case of standard (and original) fuel filter that needs replacing....

Actually sounds like the same prob as on my DCI the other week. A gearbox seal had gone and wsa leaking a very slight amount of oil on the the clutch. It was just enought to make it feel like it was down on power rather than the clutch actually slipping.

not so much loss of power , but when im stoped it struggles to not stall , drops low on the revs then when i start to move very jerky , and then when i put my foot down it starts and stops jerky.

Right, fuel prob i think - have you had your filter changed? It sounds as though there may not be enuff gettin thru. Loads of valvas (including mine) idle really low - almost to a stall and im currently in the process of getting it sorted. You need to change ure fuel filter every 32K and if ures is the original like mine then it could be the prob...........

does it mainly when the engine is cold ,
sounds like the coolant temp sensor.remove the sensor and see if its rotted through on the inside.
