Very tough paint :(

Detailing my mates VW golf that's had a respray and the paint is bombproof in parts and relatively soft in others, is this normal?

Also my CG hex green pad keeps for want of a better word, sh!tting itself, what's wrong?

Depends on the painter. If they've used VAG paint, it'll be hard. If they used cheap paint like Renault stuff, it'll be soft.

I think the point is Mx1-champ, each manufacturers 'original' paint varies whereas bodyshops paint could be a mix of who knows what - i think i'm correct in saying this... JD?

yeah i know what he meant but im a painter myself so wondered what brands the manufacturers stick to, as i know some manafacturer's have specifications for repairs and only allow certain products etc

Pads were just dumping compound
