VHS to DVD

With technology the way it is nowadays I want to get rid of my video recorder and all of my videos.

Now there are 2 ways for me to do this.....buy my videos on DVD....all quite old so going to be cheap individually, but could add up to a bit. Or I could copy my videos onto DVD using some software.

Has anyone done this? If so, what do I need? Does the quality improve/detract at all? Or should I just buy the DVD versions of the videos?

Just buy the digital copies. The quality of video is very poor. DVD is dying. Bluray will die next.

Wouldn't even waste my time, unless it was home footage.

If they're on VHS, they are probably £1 odd at HMV. Have a look in my DVD for sale thread, you may find some in there
