Vibrations after fitting decat

I fitted my decat yesterday and iv checked all the clearence with the engine running etc and it all seems fine, when i boot it in first and second it vibrates quite alot but im not sure if this is the noise vibrating or when as the engine moves when you do floor its causing the exhaust to foul a bit, does it gradully less and less from 1st, 2nd and 3rd however fourth and fifth its fine.....anyone else have the same problem?

tried it in 4th or 5th at a low speed or with a good amount of load that would tell you i guess if its the engine vibrating

gonna drag this up again.....any idea how to fix it. mines exactly the same, 4th and 5th have no problems.

Because engine mounts are naff most of the exhaust system supports the engine. FACT! regardless off whatever people say! When my exhaust was blowing my manifold was banging against the anti rollbar really badly and it was because there was movement inbetween the manifold and cat. Now i used a pug 106 gti clamp and the knocking has stopped completely. Copper piping in the exhaust mounts help too Obviously engine mounts do affect this though.....

interesting....though ive just changed all of the engine mounts a few months ago, ill have a closer look at it tomorrow

you can get round this by moving the engine forward a couple of mm its really easy to do.
