Video cameras for the car

  Turbos.
Hi Guys,

I was wondering what is a decent video set up to take movies of trackdays inside the car? It would need to attach the roll cage ideally. I've heard about bullet cams? Should i get these as i don't need a video camera for any other use...

So yeah basically, what do i need? :approve:

Cheers,

Bullet cams in the grill or bumper give the best views imo, inside cams are fine, u just get a mount that slips over the headrest thingy and attach any old cam. Ask Richardson, he's good on this shizzle

i got a head rest mount for sale.. but as he said he has a cage so more than likely has two fixed back buckets - so will need a cage clamp mount

you can knock yoursel fup som dodgy looking thing or check www.fastfilms.co.uk out and get a clamp mount from them

you can either get a normal dv camcorder - prob buying one that can have a wide angle lens screwed on.

or pay extra, get a camcorder with AV in - and then get a bullet cam (but that comes to around 500 all in)

search on here for 'bullet cam'' i did a post recently that had a full size unedited clip of the bullet cam in use so you can see what the quality is like straight from the camera.

notorious on here used to use a very adjustable suction mount stuck on the inside of his sunroof for his trackday footage that worked well.

Thanks for the mention Guy

Feel free to get in touch, I have a fair bit of experience of mounting cameras on or in Clios (I'm on track every few weeks). For a basic overview you can take a look at the guides I wrote here - http://www.fastfilms.co.uk/filming guide.htm

Some of you saw my stand at the FCS. :)

Cheers, Dave
