viewsonic monitor driver problem

I had to format my work computer with XP sometime ago. I never bothered to reinstal the drivers for the monitor as i basically didn't know they had any!! lol it worked fine with just plugging it in... but when you scroll down pages in programs/internet it is jagged and not smooth. I presume an issue with the drivers as shown by the picture.

I have been on viewsonic and downloaded the correct drviers and it basically comes up saying the veiwsonic monitor was not detected. So i have to do this manually through the device manager screen.

I have treid doing that and i have specified where the driver should be etc due to the read me that came with the cd for the monitor... but it still won't install it.

I have two other near identical computers elswhere that have the viewsonic drivers installed no issues. It is doing my head in.

Anyone explain what is going wrong for me?

All i want is ''monitor'' section on the device manager screen instead of the shitty yellow ? and smooth scrolling. nothing more nothing less!

Would that not be the video driver rather than the monitor drivers? Never used a monitor driver in my life.

thats not the monitor, thats the graphics card. You know what model graphics card you have in the computer?

Where it says Display adaptors will be your graphics card - you dont have that so therefore your card is not installed hence the poor scrolling etc

To find out what car you have, try typing dxdiag into run, though I'm not sure that will work if its not installed
