Viper 480XV alarm - Valet mode

Had this alarm fitted recently and I can't get it to go into valet mode even after following the instructions in the manual, anyone shed any light on this?

The manual says to open the door then lock it which doesn't really seem right to me but what do I know...

Sorted it now I wasn't pressing the buttons quick enough for the sequence from the manual. Can also turn the ignition on and off, press the button in the car once and then ignition on and off again which also turns it on. Turn the ignition on and off to turn it off valet mode.

It's where it prevents it from automatically arming which is meant for things like washing the car.
