Cant remember the layout of a cups engine bay but the location of the viper itself isnt that crucial - just wherever it will fit. The way you route the ducting that leads to the Viper itself is more important. The ideal duct is:
short
wide
straight
cold air at the open end
away from heat sources
Getting all these ticked off is usually impossible in any car, but you can try for a few. All the cold air in the world is no good if the pipe is so kinked and bent round that you are halving the actual cross sectional area of the pipe. A straightish but very very long run of pipe is restrictive also. With a decent bore of pipe though, length is possibly the least important. Just try not to get the pipe too twisted up if you can avoid it, and take your cold air from right down in the bumper, behind the foglight, under the headlight etc.
