Viper on a 172 mk2

I just bought a PiperCross Viper for my mk2 172 to replace my old K&N hot air induction crap and as wondering where to scoop the air from. I was just in the garage fitting it and put the air feed down there

I got bored with finding a better place and was eager to take the car for a spin. So where did you who have fitted a viper put the air feed?

tried mine down there, wasnt great. Decided to just go with where the standard one gets fed from - i.e. that hole you can see to the right of the viper!

You really need it down in the bottom grille facing forwards but I cant get it there for the life of me! or at least not without some serious hacksaw handy work

if you remove the "mystery" air valve mounted below the NS headlight you can get a 75mm duct down there to the front grill

BTW K&N are only crap if you dont feed cold to them!
