I'm wanting to put a vista theme on my XP laptop how do i do it and what do i need to download?

Yeah seriously. I installed the Longhorn Vista Crystal XP theme and had lots of trouble afterwards when I had a next Windows update. It is still not totally right after uninstalling.

I wouldn't do it tbh. Much better to stick to simple xp and buy the complete Vista pack when your ready. I was going to, but I'm another Mac convert so am waiting till I can afford an Imac.

i ran windowsblinds for about 3 years with the only problem being on some backgrounds i couldnt see what i was typing (due to my skin)

ide recommend this though

Dunno what happend with you but ive never had any probs.. certainly nothing that takes more than a minute to resolve ?

Put it this way.. My 55 year old mum has been using ubuntu for the last 2 months.. (to be honest I dont actually think she noticed I changed it lol) but she would always ask me to fix this or that on her win xp computer.. so I decided to change it and havent heard a peep from her since.. bliss

No matter what I tried I couldn't seem to get my Nvidia 8800GTX graphics card working in Ubuntu. I kept getting the X-Server problem...So I uninstalled it after hours of trying to sort it.

Right i've installed one and im loving it

Only thing is I had a load of icons down the right hand side of my desktop like a clock, weather, calender etc, i clicked off one of them and i cant get them back on now, anyone know how i can customize them on and off?

Just click system/restricted drivers
check the nvidia box and hit ok

Job done.

I don't think the one in the repos supports the 8800GTX but I may be wrong. The one installed by the envy script is the latest (100.14.09) and should support it.
