Picked up the 940s replacement.

1983 Volvo 360.

52k from new and smashed the 100 odd mile trip home with no issues.

She’s old but not in bad nick! I’ll get some better pictures tomorrow after a clean.

Other was a 340 so had the prop shaft issues. This would be a better base for more power but I might just stance it out and stick with the b19.

I’m happy with the engine. It’s never gonna be a performance car but it’ll do 80mph all day long.

Also, when you have 3 kids - it’s the correct number of doors.

Weren't Volvo famous for their safety innovations? They were crash testing cars to a much higher standard than anyone else way before ENCAP came along, I bet that thing holds up way better in an accident than the contemporaries of it's day, tbh it probably holds up better than a Saxo or a mk1 Clio, also there's loads of classics that would fold like a empty Coke can in an accident, doesn't stop people enjoying their classic Mini's, mk1 Golf's or classic Fords.

New cars are supposed to crumble, taking the force of the impact. Old volvos were build like tanks and thos transferred crash forces onto the passengers

First hand experience crashing one of these in the 90's, it held up very well.
Spotted a GLT at Kippax service station this morning and a 940, I think the owner works in the MoT bay.
