VOSA release MOT Failure rate

Not sure if you have read but VOSA have released MOT failure rates. Take a read of this BBC article and they break down the 1200 page PDF into a nice little table.

Clio is 21.2% aparently to fail an MOT :dapprove:

The Mk1 Clio however is 49% if i understand that document correct

Interesting stuff to compare reliablility!

Oh well im just happy we came out better than Corsas, Vectras and Mondeos. Shame the Ford Ka is better.

i use an independant MOT tester now who doesnt do any repairs so atleast I get an honest MOT.

Not having read the PDF I also wonder how many failures are for wiper blades and bulbs? :S

Doesn't really mean much, if you look after your car it should pass an MOT. I always check my car thoroughly for problems before I even book an MOT.

not really to do with reliability, more down to how good the owners are at looking after there cars.

most of the car i used to fail were all down to simple thing like light's etc that should be down to the owner to keep check on.
