was just wondering what was the best way to boost bhp sort of quite cheap and easily? i was thinking induction kit?

Save up and buy another car there no cheap way to get BHP in a 1.2 less you want to go down the route of stripping it bare.....

Like Bio said, at the end of the day it's a 1.2, you can try all you like but you're never going to get what you're after! Performance mods don't really come cheap either. If you're desperate then you'd be better putting your cash towards a looked after mk1 with a decent sized engine. Can pick them up for sub £1,000.

take stuff out of it, spare wheel, rear seats, all the weight you can. it will increase bhp per tonne and you'll notice a slight difference. there's not much else you can do with 1.2's.

Only thing i can suggest is get the head ported, i cleaned mine up and it showed increases.

However as standard with no mods i was running 65 BHP, book standard is 60BHP.

5 BHP for nothing so the clean of the engine and the head being redone may have changed that.

Nothing much you can do im afraid as its a market where most people dont wish to buy say cams etc for it.

can you re-map a 1.2??? but even if that any engine mods produce very little gain.
