Warning light and limp mode: Box with squiggly/spiky lines inside

  Clio Sport 172
Hi Guys

Looking for some help if possible

I have an 02 plate 172. It has been having immobiliser starting issues for months but I have been able to manage this and always seem to get it started (eventually)

A few weeks ago whilst driving down a dual carriageway and giving it some beans the car juddered quite badly and the car went to limp mode. As I pulled over and stopped the car was revving to about 3k on its own and had a warning light on the dash - a box with squiggly/spiky lines inside. After turning the car off and restarting the problem went away.
Unfortunately today the same thing happened, driving at about 50mph and then when sped up the warning light appeared and went to limp mode again until restarting. The car now feels a little funny as if at any moment this is going to happen again.

I need to get this diagnosed but am reluctant to break the bank at my local Renault dealers. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Coilpacks......spark plugs....etc.......Or does anyone live in the South Wales area and possibly have the tools to diagnose the problem? I will pay of course.

Thanks for any feedback

Dan

Thanks for that mate. Nobody has mentioned the pedal sensor but from the images in that link I have the exact same warning lights on. Went to start the car today and as soon as it fired it cut straight out. Engine management light now also on after this happened :(

Ill try cleaning pedal sensors tomorrow and fingers crossed I may be getting somewhere.

Thanks again

I have the same problem. Was supposed to be done today but the garage was busy with my dodgey hub and driveshaft lol, so its booked in for tuesday. Its getting full renault diagnostic so will let you know the outcome. Ive been told by another garage on their diagnostic it could be lambda sensor, temperature sensor or fuel filter, or many other things.
