erm just had another look at light and its more light a heart beat moitor with two swirls underneath,

it came on when i was driving along but when i got to stop maybe 2 mins after it came on i turned off the engine for about 2-3 mins and it went off,

for a few days now when my car sits at idle the car burbles and the revs dip and then go back to normal, does this alot , you recon that this has got something to do with this?

i have a piper cross viper filter and exhaust, some people have had the filter break up and go into the engine.

could something be stuck inside there by being sucked up?

im bricking it!!!

im guessing its a 2002 car, or of that era..

if so, expect coil pack, or tdc sensor..

either way call renault aa assistance if you still have it and get them to diagnose..

dont think it be the filter. If you do think its that, take it off and look at it.

Coil Pack = set of coils within a box with the HT leads coming out of it.

About £60 new i believe from renault. Easy to fit yourself, if you need help, best to email 'edde', he works for renault..

Unlikly to be the induction kit at all.

Sounds like a TDC sensor failure or throttle body being dirty rarther than the coils.

You need a garage etc realy to check it to see the problem they'll plug the car in and tell the error code will tell them what to fix etc. But by the sounds it will be a throttle body failure as its dirty just clean it up with carb cleaner and it should be fine.

Coils are £20 or so each ideal you should replace two at once (you have 4 one for each clyinder/spark plug) and idealy all 4 at once as once they fail they all do.

But as I said its not very likly to be coils.

Believe the TDC sensor on these engines is located..

Basically, rhs of the engine down near the gearbox, its in the centre.. only one with wires going too it..

not long to change it.

so you rekon that i need to clean/ replace the sensor?

as i said be the engine "splutters" on idle and the rev's are moving about the place, not by much thou, just enough for me too hear it and feel it, do you think that this might have something to do with low oil levels?

surely renualt wouldve checked it when they did the MOt back in september? if it was low they wouldve topped it up???

thanks again for all your help!!

If they did a 25point check as a dealrship should do and oil level was low they mention it but don't top it up.

The engines can burn oil though.

I'd clean the trottle body first or least check it as there more common to block up and cause this problem.
