Warranty!

Car  SchwepTek™
Bit cheesed off to be honest!

Car went in today for a new ECU mount as it had snapped at the bracket. I have heard that this is a common fault so they ordered me a new one in!

It eventually comes in after 2 months and i have just had a call today when they went to fit it saying that its not actually covered by warranty and all they could do was give me the number for Renault UK!!!

Car also needs new clutch fork and exhaust mounts which they say they will get back to me as to whether it is covered or not!!!

What was the point in buying extra warranty? What do i do now? :(

Isn't it £500 for a year?

Just phone up Renault UK and say your not happy with the car and that you feel you shouldn't have to pay for this or they can at least contribute to the costs.

I got 60% out of Renault for my Gearbox and it was over a year out of the manufactures warranty

Dont lie down on this mate, my ECU mount snapped and it was replaced under warranty! The mechanic said it was a common fault becasue the material is not strong enough!

Ren UK just said that they cant make the decision and it would be up to claims dept so they are gonna let me know.....

LAME LAME LAME

Renault UK just offered 40% of the ECU mount in good will as it apparently isnt covered on extended warranty!!!

My experiance of 'extened warranies'

Me: Hello Mr warranty company, we have a van here with a blown engine, can u pay for it?

Mr Warranty: why did it blow up?

Me: big end bolt sheared causing rod to come off and put a 'leg out of bed' (rod through the block)!

Mr warranty: Sorry, we dont cover nuts and bolts!

Me: ur f**king joking?

Mr warranty: nope, read the small print, goodbye

something silly like an ecu mount is not a moving part and is not subject to wear and tear, if the bracket is broken it should be covered as it is a manufacture or design defect that has caused it to fail! Not wear and tear.
Fight them all the way stuff like this makes me angry being in the trade myself wa:eek:  ers like that make everyone in the trade look bad

Just booked mine in for the ECU bracket. The guy at crossroads kidlington was very helpful (thought it was a wind up at first!) and is collecting the car on wednesday to do the ECU bracket, bonnet recall and fit a wiper blade!.

We'll see if it all goes to plan.........

mines in for oil leak and o2 sensor on Thu - this is warrenty work - lets hope they pay for it! :(

bet you thats the o2 sensor shagged!!! ^

or havent you just put a decat on it! that will also cause it!
