what is the standard warrenty for a 172 mk 2 clio? looking at buying an 02 plate guy told me theres oine month left?? does this mean its an import as i thought they cam with 3yrs warrenty?

They all come with 3 years warrenty !! Ring renault UK and get them to sort it !!

Think it depends on how it was inported

I got my car from Tins.co.uk, and due to the way in which they imported it meant that they were the first owner of the vehicle. Because i was then the second, it only had two years warantee from when it was brought into the UK. Well that was according to Tins, Renault UK said i had no warantee at all!

If its a European import (i.e. not from Cypress) then youll get 3 years although some things are only covered for the first and second year, just like uk dealer warranty

I have just rung up ren uk and they told me that depending on which country the car was imported from will effect the length of warranty.

Some carry 3yrs and others only carry 1 yr!!!(they are not all 3yrs)

Dont be fooled into thinking that because someone had a uk car from motorpoint that they will order from the same place as last time and import a uk one again,it may well come from cyprus.

If the car seems ok get it checked and buy it,its only 2yrs old and renault do a type of extended warranty for imports (£80). which they will warrant all work needed to get the car through its first m.o.t

Have just contacted renault to register mine, I get the full 3 year warranty as my car was imported direct from France (I am also 1st owner on log book) Got mine from Barkers in Preston. Like as mentioned above, think some of Motorpoints cars are registered in Cyprus so only 2 years warranty with those.
