Washed and SRP'd Last Night...

  Add me 2 ur PS3 - Lylak
I clayed the car 2 weeks ago and I planned to re-wash, SRP, seal and wax over the weekend however time flew by and I only managed to wash and SRP last night.

I've driven the car about 4 miles (to work and back) since, so it might of picked up a bit of dirt.

Would it be OK to spray quick detailer on it, wipe off with a microfibre then seal once and then wax with collinite?

I plan to add 3 - 4 layers over this week. Each time I add a layer should I go over the car in quick detailer or is it a waste of time and just go ahead and slap some more wax on?

I would give it a quick wash n dry before mate. Only takes a little bit of grit, And then your dragging it around creating heavy swirls or scratches.

I'd wash and SRP the car again just to be on the safe side...

I'm pretty sure once you've washed the car there wont be much SRP left. Probably worth re applying the SRP...

SRP the car again! I only SRP'd it yesterday?

SRP without a sealant doesnt last very long at all mate. I wouldnt be that confident that there will be much left after the first wash...

Someone esle may be able to confirm...

Without a good base the sealant wont stick. A quality finish is 95% down to the prep work rather than the products used...

dont use too strong a mixture of the wash, SRP should be fine.....

Does the car look dirty ?

If in doubt wash i, if it looks clean just QD it tbh !

are you serious mr rich? no wax or sealent?
have you given up the ghost on detailing?

No, the car is clean mate. I think QD is the way forward + quicker!

Will only have a 2 hour window before darkness sets in to go over the car with car lacker and wax.

SRP is s**t

In what way ?

Cleans up the paint nicely, leaves a good base for sealants, one step product that leaves behind standalone protection, cheap and easy to use, light defect correctional abilities and swirl filling properties.

maybe the moutains of dust?

clearkote vanilla mousse is much easier to use too and imo gives better results.

Only dusts with user error - Use less and work it properly !

VM can not be directly compared as they are quite different products. I would use both personally.

VM is a nice product, yes easier to use but I doubt there are any products in the world easier than VM. It hides more defects than SRP will, but wont correct even light defects.

Also only a wax can go over it, won't allow a sealant to bond.

i've only ever had lighter colours so never really worked with sealants so maybe i stand corrected. i used srp recently on a grey leon and wasn't massively impressed.

ph2 leather is still nicer though.

tbh, i don't rate SRP! Alot better out there!

3M, Menz & Wolfganz are the preferred polishes of the bear.

yer, don't get me wrong. when i said 'SRP is s**t' i was just attention seeking. i do use it, just think there's better out there.

For correctional jobs yeah much better out there.

As a direct replacement for SRP there is not a product out there that ticks all the same boxes.

SRP/EPG is hard to beat value wise imo. I gave the 197 a clay/srp, then x2 egp, and it came out fekking awesome!!! Works so well on Albi Blue imo. My prefered combo tbh.
