Water marks

I know it's a track car and I know I shouldn't care but the roof/spoiler on my cup has been annoying me for 6 months

I parked it up under a tree at my girlfriends parents last year for the weekend and it rained on it - but I think the rain must have got tree sap in it too. When I next washed the car you can see water marks in the paint

I clay'd it and even tried t-cut and scratch x on a cheap polisher but it doesn't make a dent
You can't really see them from a distance but if you get up to the roof and look at an angle they're still there

Will they machine polish out? Or is it going to be a respray job :(

Do you know if the paintwork on your roof is origional?

Can you feel these marks with your finger/fingernail?

Same happened to one of the works vans, No mater what products i threw at it, it wouldn't budge. Just left it in the end.

Does it look like the lacquer has had it all the way through to the paint? Usually reasonable to notice.

Did the polish make any difference at all? maybe needs wet sanding a little bit.

I don't think it's gone through to base coat as it still looks shiney from a distance it's just if you look at it across the roof close up you can see them all

You can't really feel it with your finger nail - it feels smooth

Very weird

I'll see if I can get some pics later
