weird noise when turning the steering wheel?

Hi there ive got a funny sounding noise which only happens when i turn the steering wheel from one direction to the other, its like a pinging? any one know what this might be?

whats the car? there have been a few 197 steering rack related problems on here recently some even had them replaced on warranty IIRC, might be worth doing a search.

also if there fluid electric power steering check the level
