Weird ticking sound 1,4rt -92

well the sound comes from the engine bay and iv´e checked the valves and their all ight.. what else could it bee??

does it do it when the engines cold, or is it all the time?

Mine did this quite badly and it was just a loose spark plug. The ticking was the spark jumping the gap.

Might be worth checking? Otherwise noisey injector probably.

injectors?? Guys i thought that you knew more then that there´s no injectors at the energy engine in the rt version. So it can´t be that...

Dazz: Well it´s like this, i do go for a drive every day and the car sounds perfect! BUT! when i turn it off and after a while like 10minutes or so turn it back on it sounds like sh*t! Tick Tick Tick and it makes me crazy! Sound like some f**king diesel car or something like that..

Sounds like its low on oil or maybe the fan belt has a tear that is catching.

Another posibility that we have come across before is a worn cam tensioner bearing. The reality of it is that there are many thing under the bonett that could be ticking it may be best to take it to a good garage near you and ask there opinion. If you want to arrange and bring it to me one day I will take a look and give you my opinion and what sort of work is needed to fix it.

P.S. The 1.4 rt energy engine runs on single point injection so it could even be your injector.

ive noticed a similar sort of thing over the last week or two. Think it seems to be the oil, as i added some today and it seems to have improved it.

Think il book it in for the £15 change with National. Anyone had this done?

the oil level is fine and i switched oil last week
