Wet Footwells

Hello, I have a Clio Campus Sport 1.2 and the footwells mainly passenger side is damp. I have searched the forums and found multiple threads on the issue but to be honest I get confused as I'm not very technically minded.

I've had a look under the car and noticed a few of the rubber gromit type things are loose and upon moving one water dripped out slightly- these rubbers seem well and truly worn and perished so I would guess these could do with replacing. Anyone know where I can source these?

Secondly, where else should I check? It doesn't have a sunroof. I've read about the scuttle drains or somthing and drains in the sill but I'm not sure how to access or is that what the rubber gromits are? I also read somthing about the arch liners so what would I need to check for there?

Thank you in advance.

When i had wet foot wells in my DCI it was the sunroof, as you don't have one it could be the scuttle drains. It would be best to strip back the plastics and carpet in that area then get a friend with hose to poor water all over the car and see where it comes in from.

Just as an extra thought: mine has been emptying the washer bottle into the rear passenger foot-well and wicking through the carpet toward the front of the car. I thought it was a door seal leaking and that the headlight washers were draining the washer bottle separately, but the emptying continued even after I deleted them. Is it definitely just water?

Does your washer jet (for the tailgate) only trickle out? I have a hose clamp on the rear line till I get the interior panel off to have a proper look and seal it as it literally pours out from the interior panel when I run the rear wash......

My other suggestion would be the scuttle drains too, but the cabin air is fed into the car mainly on the drivers side. The washer bottle and wiper mechanism are on the passenger side.

The rubber seals under the car usually have a cavity above (certainly for the 2x outer edge of the car bolts for the seat subframe) but it'd need some doing to force water up into those unless you were driving through fords/huge puddles......

The rear does only trickle out yes, Do you know what route the piping for the rear washer takes?

I'll have a look at that guide @STEVE.M thanks

My leak comes out behind the passenger door inside the car, from underneath the rear passenger's interior trim (under the seat pad below where the rear cup holder thing/rear speaker is). I removed the seat pad and ran the pump for the rear screen and it came sloshing out and down into the rear footwell......

I assume the hose runs down from the washer bottle near the bonnet release in the front footwell, along the n/s sill at low level and then up behind the trim till it rises up the C pillar to come up and over through the boot umbilicle.

Still not had a chance to look at mine yet.
