Felt I must defend MG Maestros and Metros along with later metros Gtis, anybody slating them cant have driven a decent one, MG Maestros in non turbo were well sorted and fairly quick in a torquey big 8valve way, turbos were madness and very rare (only five hundred odd made, but since they rot like hell theres probably less than 100 left). Also early metros were esentially minis in a modern body, and you cant say they dont handle, or go good. Late Metros are piss except Gtis which are capable of surprising far more powerfull and expensive machinery, anybody read CCC
Bad hot hatches, Modern Escort Harriers (1.6 and piss), any golf Gti past a mark 2 (they just got all lardy and soft), almost any early jap effort at a hot hatch (its only recently they have started to hit the mark), all XR3s apart from a Mark 1 which is ok, also RS1600i is overated and is not special in the least other than being rare, hell there is loads, I reckon all the major manufacturers have lost thier way from time to time in the old hot hatch band wagon. Hell that was laongwinded post, sorry, you can tell i am at work
