What are the best mods that DONT affect the ecomomy

I was just wondering what mods are possible that don't affect the mpg significantly.
I've heard mixed things about ECU remapping etc, some say this has no effect, other say it does.

What about induction kits? Any effect?

Opinions on this?

Decat should give you a rise in mpg. Some maps can too.

Induction kits are a waste of time on most clio's, renault got it right with the standard set-up.

thing is, people will often say I fitted an induction kit then my mpg went down...

They dont take into account they have been booting it around to see what difference it has made.

I have remaped mine, fitted a cat back exhaust and a K&N panel filter, have not noticed any difference in fuel consumption at all. Its all down to how you drive it to be honest.

first up strap some 1000cc injectors and a nos kit...............joke
in fact the only way of getting real power gain is by tweaking the engine to cram more fuel into the engine, so a simple formula is effective here.

more money + more proformance mods = more power + more fuel consuption.

decat is i good option as it is a restrictor, getting a better burn from decent plugs may inprove slighly aswell, induction kit may save fuel, but in most cases you jus floor it for the noice! all of this is cosmetic in a way, real power gains come from real tuning, not bolt on mods, turbos and throttle bodies may sound expensive but compaired to REAL race tuning, ther budget!

:clown:

Strip it, - replace glass with plasic, replace metal with carbon fibre

Add lighter components, - tyres - alloys of the same width but lighter - smaller arial - smaller wing mirrors

Change the gear ratios for more mpg on motorway or around town depending on what you do more of.

Remap the ecu map for a more economic setting

Restrict the exhaust system

Nitos could help you use less fuel so could work if set up right.

Lower it,

Clean it,

Anything that increases air input or fuel input will make it drink more fuel.

A turbo will help increased the performance and if driven carfully may increase mph, stamp your foot though and the balance tips the other way.
