What computer for approx £700

My bro is after a computer and needs everything, monitor, keyboard, mouse etc for about £700 max. He'll use it mostly for the net and gaming. Any reccomendations?

Well over a year ago 799 got me..

Acer Aspire T130
17" Flat Screen
AMD64
512MB RAM
200GB Hard Drive
FX5500 nVidia Graphics Card
DVD/R CD/R, Card Reader Slots, loads of USB's the usual


It plays all games fine (Counter Strike Source, Half Life 2), apart from Acer failing to repair it under warranty on 5 different occasions I really like it lol

But basically for that I'd imagine you could now get 1GB RAM, better graphics card and maybe a better AMD 64 chip...

Looks good for the money, my dad bought an even cheaper dell, which was very f*cking slow but I stuck some more RAM in and it flies now, so I'd imagine that'd do the job, not sure about the Graphics card, I'm sure a real expert will tell all..

what ever you do dont buy dell. they are crap. they date so quickly and if ya have any problems then might as well not bother calling the call centers.
