Right got my standard clio not so long ago and while its been off the road i have been modding

Now i realise its only a 1.4 8 valve mk1 but its my first car so i thought i would have a play.

Standard i think it will run 11.2 seconds to 60

What will be done when its on the road:


removed spare,parcel shelf + rear seats
Swapped steelies for very light compomotives (15s)
Removed standard seats replaced with lighter buckets
Pipercross open IK with 2 possibly 3 air feeds and heat sheild
backbox - universal so dont expect big gains if any
So what do you think the weight reduction etc will bring it down to?

should manage it!

to drop just under 10 youd prolly need over 100BHP (1.6 16V about 9.5 with 110BHP)

10 is my aim with diesel power (IK and superchips) = 103BHP

(11.6s 0-60 with 85 BHP)

my 1.4 16v does 9.5-10 and its ssssssssssllllllllllooooooowwwwww -need a 172

well im a mk1 so would there be much difference i estimate it weights around 800 kg after the weight drop

yeah and all weight loss will be made redundant once u fill up and have a passenger -not worth it

no there is a lot to be said for weight reduction as a lot of people on here will say. Thats another discussion though im just looking for times etc

look at the clio cup for a comparison -huge weight drop and not much gain

lotus elise = weighs only 750ish !!! (kerb weight)

1.8, 1796 cc, 120 bhp

Runs 0-60 in around 5.5 seconds

Valver = more HP

about 1000kg and does it in 7.4 ish
