whats the top speed in a 1.6 mk2 ph2 ive had 115 and it felt like it could easily do more
The car will go as fast as the gearing/limiter will allow
And I repeat
The car will go as fast as the gearing/limiter will allow and no quicker.
The ClioSports would all do 150 on that logic, but in reality the top speed is somewhere around 140.
mine hits the limiter in 5th which i beleive is somewhere around 145mph? its 150mph on the speedo but we all know thats not true
We've all seen the pic sir...a certain Duncan Ferguson in his black 172 proved the limiter can be hit in 5th at 150 indicated..
Me also. Vid on my phone to prove

Top stuff..private runway i presume?
seriously doubt that mate,.
1.2 Grande will do 0 - 60 in 14.5 seconds and its top speed is 100 mph. 60BHp Sohc 8v.
The 16v has a top speed of 106mph (Supposedly)
In a vacuum, yes. With air resistance the power is also hugely important. You need power to push through the air. A 1.2 Clio could be geared to do 250mph but it's never going to get there.
I can't imagine .... actually i can imagine what it would be like if one had to apply extreme breaking in 1.2 doing over a 100mph - s**t SCARY!
Arent the 1.2 brakes rated for 150bhp or something like that, ridiculously good brakes for such a low powered car. Can't comment on the 8v but the 1.2 16v brakes were impressive I found, very stable and powerful from high speed.
No you cant. runs out of puff at 5k ishSurely you cant hit the limiter in a 1.2 in fifth anyway?
I read somewhere that it was a braking set up similar to the Williams?
are we talking with or without a tail wind :rasp:
With mate..but if you've an eBay chip in, yer laughin..
AR
I hear the reputable scottish folk there deliver gains of double the standard 75bhp on the 1.2 iirc
Sorry but if you want to go fast you need a saber edv!
Many thanks
