What is this?

What is this? It is behind the nearside headlamp. I’m guessing it is something to do with cold start in the engine. Currently the engine is completely cold and this is how it is sitting. I’m not intending to do anything with this as the car seems to run perfectly. I’ve only noticed it as I’ve taken off the air inlet pipe to repair it and just want to know what this is for future reference. As it sits now, do you think everything looks ok with it?

Looks fine. Id be more concerned about the fucked wiring on that plug

That’s where I had to use a scotch clip to get the headlights to work a few months ago. It’s on the list of things to sort out.
