what now?

right i currently have a viper, matched inlets, 182 manifold, decat, magnex exhaust, and a remap in a few weeks.

what is the next logical step in tuning the engine? i was thinking cams and headwork? can anyone shed some light and some rough prices, thank you

buy a 2nd hand Megane RS engine cheap, pull your 172 engine out

strip both engines down and swap pistons into the 172 block, whack the MRS head onto the 172 block stick it in car, remap bo selecta

wasted money getting it remapped then cams and another remap.

The ECU will be able to adjust enough to those mods i would of thought without damaging the engine.

its not the gears that are weak in the JC5, so shot peening would be a bit pointless

its the bearings and the casing thats the weak points

fair enough.

in that case i guess it a case of sourcing a better quality stronger bearing set.

as for the case.... hmmmmm..... CNC machined one!! lol

its one of those, not much you can do about it really!

its surprising how much heavier the Sadev sequential is compared to the JC5, but the casings on that are rock solid

lol i can see fred still playing with the vee inside the trailer at rockingham!

sounds like alot of work fred stripping 2 engines down, how much could you do me shrick cams for with installation and setup?

ahh so just cams then 1700 doesnt seem to bad including new cam belt to hmm i'll have to ponder on it while i wait for my ceramic coated manifold to return
