What paint do i have?

Hi,

I feel silly asking this question but anyway.

I have a black billabong 2003 clio.

And i just want to know what type of paint it is ? if anyone knows?

Ive looked in the handbook and it dosent say. Is there anywhere on the car it will say?

Cheers for any help.

Found a previous post showing how to find it.

It says: NV676.

Can anyone link me to an areosol for this paint please?

I need to cover up my MANY stone chips. Cheers.

Get the paint from halfrauds, or get your local piant place to make it up for you (paint shop would be a better bet tbh)

It may be worth just 'touching up' the chips unless your plannig a respray job on your bonnet etc.

halfords sell a pearl black off the shelf, but avoid it like the plague as its nowhere near the original colour. go to a proper paint shop

Cheers for the replys, Yeah im going to cover them up for now.

I already got some Pearl black from halfords and its knowhere near what my paint looks like.

Does anyone have any links to good matches online?

I want areosol because i hear its thinner and better applied with a c0cktail stick.

Cheers.

Now im confused ! :S

Can anyone confirm the paint code on the sticker is NV676 or NY676 ??

On the paintscratch.com site there is an NY676 code, but i need to make sure thats what ive got before i order up.

Can do the same with a touch up stick tbh.

Like guysy said . Spray it in the lid . I'm not a fan of the touch up sticks as they always seem a bit on the thick side so don'tfill the chip as well as the slightly thinner aerosol paint . Plus the touch up sticks are only 15ml and cost more than a 400ml aerosol ;)

sorry to bump this thread back up but its pointless making a new one.

Just need some confirmation.

If i order this:

7701422417 pencil black 676 (System : two-coat | Colour code : 676) 6.68 05

It is the right match for my paint ?

Renault garage is a walk away from me, do i just go in there and give them the code?

Cheers.

Sound right bud.

The two coat probably means you get a touch up pen in the colour of your car and one with lacquer.

And Renault is probably cheaper than Halfrauds anyway

Sweet. I kind of wanted to get the one with laquer pre mixed in? does that exist?

7701422410 a/t black 676v (System : two-coat | Colour code : 676) 12.69 05

Also is that the same, but an aerosol? I would prefer this.. Will i need to laquer after? as im only touching up some stone chips.

cheers

I don't know about getting paint with lacquer mixed in :S

But if its for stone chips on a good day you wouldn't have to wait long to apply the lacquer over the top of the paint on your touched up stone chip anyway.

If it wa me i'd just go with a touch up pencil.

As the aerosol will probably leave overspray everywhere :(

And look more obvoious its been touched up.

Cheers for you help mate :)

Ive just walked down to reno and ordered the pencil. said it was something like £9.50. Still cheap but seems theyve put there prices up.

Anyway it should be there tomorro at 11. so im happy.

I wouldnt have sprayed the chip, i think some people spray some in the lid and apply with a stick to the area. Something about aerosol being thinner.

Will post up some results if all goes well.

:)

Bin the lacquer , you don't need it . Just fill the chips with the paint , wet sand it flat then polish .

Why do you thinkin it would look pap?

People repair stone chips all the time, im hoping mine will come out good and i think it might.
