what parts are interchangeable ?

hi guys as many of u know im looking for a 172 , in my garage i have a 197/200 complete engine with inlet an exhaust manifold from a new shape clio sport , will any of the parts fit on a 172 lump and offer any increase ?

The 197 cams are being commonly used on F4R's now and offer circa 10bhp

Exhaust Manifold proberly not, plus the 197 manifold includes a pre car in the downpipe. Looking at the mwm thread an you will see they have included in the inlet manifold in there build.

Not sure what work this involves, but I'm sure if you ask chip or the mwm guys who have fitted it an run it they will be more then happy to offer more advice.

Tap the block so it takes a 172 gearbox (or reblock the engine into a 172 block) and fit he complete engine and inlet, but use a 182 exhaust manifold and the dephasor solenoid and engine loom from the 172.

About half that TBH on a standard engine, but more like 10bhp on an RS2 car.
