What power are we seeing from the RS2?

  182 cup
As quite a few people have had the RS2 fitted now, what kind of power figures are people seeing from the conversion?

Im interested to know if its a 172 or 182 and what other mods you have i.e. decat, cams etc.

Looking for Power and Torque figures :approve:

It's not all about figures, they mean nothing, imo.

The way it drives is sublime, imo. Pulls from low down and keeps going, and going, and going.

There are my 182 results floating around somewhere - identical to Scotts, another cup I believe, 2 more customers that need diagnosis work over the coming days, maybe more?

it WILL do it on normal oil!

our cam package does over 190bhp using the stock inlet, when you 2 "southern poofs" stop fannying about and get your arse to track we should try the 2 cars against each other, seeing as none of the other tuners/specialists are up for it!!!

you 2 at autosport BTW?

Yes, on the Friday - you?

Don't worry about the racing, we're well up for it - just need to get the flippin' car finished!

Not allowed in until I've checked their ethnic diversity quota.

We're bringing Nick with us - he looks sort of Arabian - does that count?

^has to be true ethnic to pass security, we're going on thursday, but pop by the workshop when you're done if you want

Whilst the peak figures are there or there abouts, look how smooth the power/torque lines are on the JMS graphs! Almost like they've been drawn with a ruler!

  Mazda 3 MPS Mk1
yeah massive difference in torque delivery, the peak is the same but the drivability of the RS2 must be fantastic!

I'll be the first person to take the piss out of Tom and James, but with the RS2, i can't fault the results.

Just keeps pulling and pulling. It's almost like the 5k kick's been moved to 3k, and keeps on like that until it hits the limiter.

I'd like to see one with fred's cams and the rs2..... Would still work out about the same cost as itb's, no?

hopefully somone going to surrey a week sat can give me a spin in a car with it fitted!

Be v interested

I think the whole idea with the JMS kit is it's bolt on and no need for internal work.

I'm starting to doubt whether I want to even take the clio any further than matched inlets and exhaust as any further mods either make power every so often and the ones that dont have 'issues' :(

If they combined Fred's cams and Tom/James' inlet, a black hole would appear and suck the car in oblivion. (The same one that engulfed Fenn's liger apparently)

Are those figures not lower than stock ITB's?? :S

I thought with cams 220+bhp was achieveable? (And i'm not talking GDi's rollers! ;))

  182 cup
So its looking that both 172's and 182's produce 190bhp as a rule once they are mapped in a healthy car.

Looking forward to getting mine fitted now!

When is fitting to commence Tom?

212 with bodies and 428's, might squeaze 220 on a GOOD day with different cams

i'm taking dynacup high comp now, just to see what it does :D

Nick might be there, depends if his meg has given up due to water damage!

Yes, but with cams what tends to happen is all your notice is the extra power. Something like ITB / RS2 generate a lovely noise and something to look at at the end of the day.

Lastly, very few people realise the common problems with ITBs.

Are those figures not lower than stock ITB's?? :S

Don't be fooled by the hype. ITBs do around 190 normally with a little more torque at peak and less duration. The days of 205+ ITB clios (with stock engine) are long gone.

So its looking that both 172's and 182's produce 190bhp as a rule once they are mapped in a healthy car.

Yes, 190 is the norm, with the odd car (Carls) doing 195+ it seems.

Buy me some parts while your at it :star:

  Renaultsport Clio 172
Although that car with cams always have 150 torques!!!! besides the roler coster shape!!! wonder how they would run against each other!

  Italian 3.2 V6
I'm guessing RS2 + cams with hit 198-205max

Tom - u spoke to what's his face about the sensor yet?

Unfortunately it's not always a matter of adding up the numbers like that.

Yes, he is getting back to me - I'll ring you as soon as I know.
