What shall I do

  328, MK1 Clio 1.4
Right, following my Questions about Induction kits etc. I went into Renault and they can provide the standard airbox for about £100.

Shall I do this and put the car back to how it was, or look into something else, not to worried about the noise anymore, just don't want to be loosing unnecessary power.

Standard airbox is better than an induction kit imo.
I have a 182 airbox u can buy if u want. I think they are the same

Espace V6 is better than the standard box and thats only £60 new with a filter, I would go for this personally. Bit more of a pain to fit obviously but nothing major.

How about a standard box with a panel filter?

Also I guess I will need some other hoses, as the current piece of crap has no CAF?

The V6 box is better than standard and cheap?! Yeah you can hook up your own CAF to the fog etc but from reading other threads the fogs isnt the best place to use, I am currently using the fog but will just be using the V6 airbox left with the exit open behind the headlight, this is the same as the highest performing 172 had on our EA RR day the other month.

A standard box with a panel will be fine though, you can have my box and panel filter if you can wait until I get my V6 box? pm me if so.

How much more difficult is it to fit the V6 box then? Is it something I can do myself with every man tools and a bit of common sense, I don't really want to pay £60 to have it fixed by the garage.

When you getting your V6 box?

I don't know much about this sort of thing!

Its just a tight fit but you dont need any special tools.

Ill be getting mine next month, it has a K&N panel filter fitted, ill only be after £45 posted for it all.

Think I will stick with a standard one TBH and get a good panel filter,

Because i just have a cone filter ATM, can I just get the airbox from renault? or will I need other bits?

As standard they have 2 cold air feeds but its up to you if you want to use these, the front one goes to the acoustic value down by your horn, I guess this probably hasnt been removed from your car though? This was put in by Renault to pass noise tests as without it fitted there is quite a nice induction sound.

Also on second thought my airbox has a "modded" hole so you probably wouldnt want it :)

Lol, okay, I think I will order it up from Renault then, fit it myself, and hook up the secondary one, not the one with the acoustic valve, just leave that off,

Easy enough to do then?

Thanks for your patience mate, must be like pushing rope up hill talking to me !

Yeah its piss to fit :) Worth looking for one second hand though? £100 is alot tbh and they are all the same thing at the end of the day, just wont look as new. Bound to be loads in peoples garages on here, I would try the wanted forum maybe?
