what should I do?

  Clio 197
Ok everyone I know it a silly question....

It is worth it to change my mk2 ph1 RSi 1.6 16v to mk1 172 or wait save up for while & get like mk1 v6 or new mk3 197? Or save up for my future like a house or anythings.

I got my Mk2 RSi September 2006 & I still like it now. But everyone seem to be asking me so many time about me to get mk1 172 or mk1 v6 but why??

I'm 27 now, I never own RS clio & what it like to keep them?

help will be great

thanks

  Lots of Alfas
Get one while your still young(ish) ;) .

Does the RSI put a smile on your face? Do you care? Do you drive around town a lot? Can you afford it if things go wrong, which they do?

Buy one... I just sold mine. Sad day, but i'm sure there are good things to come.

Property's never a bad shout...and your car is nice anyway! Depends where your priority's lie.

Do you realy care what others think? I don't

Cars are a means to an end if your happy why change.

If I were you and wanted to chnage it would be Mk1 V6 not 172 I'd be looking at.

Its your car mate, as long as your happy with it, theres more to life than having an RS Clio. Having said that you only live once so stop talking about it and hurry up and get a ph-quick!!

I'm not really bother tbh, I like my car right now & it great but peeps keep asking me change it to 172. Am I wasting my time getting mk1 172?

I'm alway a fan mk1 v6 but I remember back in late 1998 when I first saw clio v6 in the clio brochure & I said oh wow! lol So I brought the mk2 ph1 1.2 8v RN in 1999 for £8,500 in brand new, had it for 7 yrs & move on to mk2 RSi 1.6 16v. The v6 came out late 2001 but it was cost alot money by then but now seem getting cheap now & why that? Are they started to break down & why peeps seem to getting rid off them?

Buying a car is a wate of time still didn't stop you buying another car did it. Cars arn't realy a good idea why have a cd player you don't need it etc. There for the enjoyment realy how much you pay is your choice.

There cheap since there getting on in age cambelts are £1k with the water pump etc and now there close on 5 years old they need doing.

Cars depreciate the V6 whilst rare isn't that rare its only down to about half its value after 5 years which is superb realy most cars its less than half after 3. Peopel get rid so they can get the new phase 2 or jsut for a chjnage.

Also V6's are often the owners only car and milage are often very low so they get bored of not using it and think about the cambelt bill tyre bills and jsut want a change realy so get something different

Right I think I better keep my RSi for little longer & save up for somethings else. V6 are great car but I never know may own one or not cos I don't like waste my money on silly things or waste my time which is doing for nothing.

Maybe get a mk1 v6 - run it for a year or so, then sell it to get a house ??

have you got two car or just one?

I think you should go for a 172 - It'll cost you no more than 2k to upgrade and get a great one. What's two grand these days?? Solicitors/Surveyors fees.

Giles - I've only got the vee. I don't drive to work, I get the train as I work up town. if I were to work local i'd probs just buy a diesel or something & keep the vee for weekends.

im going to talk some wise words here, which ive always lived my life by:

if you want to do something... do it, before its too late. You never know what tomorrow might bring.

This might be your only chance to live that dream...

Giles, It should not matter what anyone else thinks of your car. If you like it, then that's all that counts. If you are considering a 172 because you actually like them alot and want one, then go for it! If on the other hand you are only considering it because you feel others don't like your car, then don't do it. At the end of the day, it's what makes you happy that matters. Do what you want to do and not what others think you should do.

i think the reason why people keep asking you is because there are alot of posts about you getting one/ wanting one. then changing your profile to say you own one just confuses people
