had 205's on my 182, now have 195's on AST coilies. The only difference good or bad is that the 195s do not follow tramlines in the road like the 205s used to (lorry ruts etc) so under power it seems more under control - especially when cornering.
Cant give a reliable opinion on performance as I changed tyre brand when changing size.
225/40's also fit quite happily (on paper at least)
I have found the same as tompoms, that 195's run slight better on the motorway, also their slightly smaller diameter reduces my speedo inaccuracy. Plus they're significantly cheaper.
