What subs would you buy???

  Impreza WRX
id always go with inphase mate. grab a 1200watt amp, and run in through inphase 12" subs.
I got a 15" inphase sub, and a 900watt amp, and its stunning mate.
by far the best ive ever heard.
Its not the cheapest make but you get what you pay for, you could propably get 2X12" subs and an amp from motorworld for under 200quid, but they shite.
Now do what ive told ya and thank me when you hear em lol

Look here!!!!! www.caraudiocentre.co.uk

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
id not toutch inphase even if it came with a 10 ft bardge poll free lol

depends on your budget and what you want from your system completely mate

  ValverInBits
vibe are fairly industry standard for subs are they not?

....alternatively, save the weight, and have a boot!

  Works...kind of...
One good quality sub will "out-phump" two mediocre ones.

Makes:

JL Audio
RE Audio
Phoenix Gold
Infinity
Rockford Fosgate

JBL's are excellent budget subs though.

  Mk1 Facelift '97 1.2
I have 2 alpine type r subs and a V12 amp for sale if that is any use if you are looking for a system. The subs are 12" and i believe they are 1500w each and the amp is a 1000watt monoblock. They are very good and i have always stuck with alpine.
Some others i believe to be good are vibe, rockford fosgate and Infinity

  1.2 Dynamique billabong
i had a JL sub running on a phoenix gold amp and that was good, but i was equally suprised by the quality of my brothers JBL sub and amp package considering the price, excellent value for money.

boston subs are good as well mate

Agreed, JBL are excellent in terms of bang for buck.

I got a Maystar amp and old Phoenix Gold sub attached to a sealed box. By no means top-end by todays standard but it kicks out some excellently accurate bass.

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
some top of the fange fusion stuff is ok, the eleventy billion subs and amps for £200 i would saty away from

  Polo + Micra
for 300 you can have the pair of infinity 12 vq's and the JL1000/1 out of the clio

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
because they are more top end specialist equipment

most halfrauds type customers are not willing to spend over about £40 per sub

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
ah for that budget, yeah vibe although im not sure how much they are these days ( they give me all my vibe stuff, well used to )

the sub i have now costs £220.... and its only a 10"

  audi a6 3.0tdi
what u hink uf thevibe space stuff, little old but still anygood?
i've got a space 15 inch sub and monobloc 4 amp that used to sound good but you'd need the whole of the car sound deadening as it sounds s**t outside every panel rattles. mines sat in my spare room taking up space.

Whats your budget dude? Lets sort that out first of all.

No point me baqnging on about a set up thats out of your price range.

Let me know a budget and I'll have a think.

Im very impressed with mine. Its a 12" 600 series, which i run of a kenwood 8152 monoblock amp. Ive had this setup for about two years+touch wood, ive not managed to blow anything yet. Before this sub, I had a 12" in phase sub powered by the same amp, which i managed to blow 3 times, which was replaced under warranty

Oh and as everyone says, Your better off putting your money into one good sub rather than two sh*te ones!! More room in your boot too!! lol

As you have probably realised, its hard to find any audio shop that will give you a fair, unbiased opinion on a product. There obviously going to push certain makes, that they have the most of or whatever. Id advise just trying to listen to things yourself+form your own opinion.

At the time, i think it was about £320, which made me twitch at the time, but 2 years later, worth every penny! lol. When i Kept blowing the in phases, i set my heart on a 12" alpine type R. But when i looked at the construction of them both, the alphasonik wins hands down. Since then, my mate has had a alpine type X too, and he said he prefers the sound of mine.

As said, try and listen to as many as you can, and form your opinion. Dont listen too much to the salesmans bull
