Right im after your views on what i should do, ive had my 172 flamer for around 2-3 months now and i like it alot but the lad who bought my old 106 gti has just emailed me and asked if im interested in buying it back, and since the day ive sold it i wish that i hadnt. To most on here it would be a keep the 172 as its a clio sport forum but any input are welcome. cheers dean:approve:

I'd be interested to find out why he suddenly wants rid of it. That would probably be a good place to start as it may be it requires to have some work done or the like.
The 172 flamer is a great car, and for what it's worth, i'd much rather one than a 106 GTi.
As stated above maybe its just the nostalgia aspect thats making you long for the 106.
It's all down to you, but i'd say stick with the 172.

The gti is a 2001 the same as the 172, he's selling it because he is buying a house. I sold it because i wanted something i could do more miles in comfortably at the time (i bought a golf) but now i dont need that. And i think you both maybe right about the longing for the past bit.

What would you say my car was worth? Its a 51 reg flame 172, 60k miles, mint condition. Got some reciepts for service history but no book which im going to look into soon. Its got 17' tsw pace alloys in anthracite, lowered on coilovers, bmc air filter and magnex back box along with brembo max discs and uprated pads?
