whats the best air filter

What would be the best induction kit for my 1.8 16v clio and why?

K & N would suck in hot air and be counterproductive. As fred says std box with either an ITG or Maxogen pannel

under bonnet temperatures are pretty high on 16V/Wiliams

Open filters such as K&N/PiperX/Green etc arent sheilded at all from heat, hot air contains less oxygen than cool air = less power

the OE airbox is infact a very good design, Hippys pink racer will be going back to original airbox with a replacement panel filter at some point

the only good thing with open filters is they sound cool!!!

The std airbox design is the best. It oncorporated a much better lead in and radius entry into the throttle body. None of the aftermarket filters offer this and seem to loose a fair amount by not introducing laminar flow into the TB.

Kits which go from a round outlet at the filter to an adaptor for the TB are the worst, like vipers or BMCs

Although, the K&N does use the OE airbox radius part, you are introducing higher inlet temps.

im not sure to be honest mate, George wanted one but ive not been able to sort him out with it, ive just been too busy with work to sort it properly
