prob right actually, although i'd imagine they'd be around the same due to the extra horses.
At the end of the day each model with a bit of work can be as fast as any of the others basically same engine at the end of the day. Its mainly due to reducing weight etc
well I thought that too, but the Cup's usually make more than the other RS' on every RR day I have been to which is odd...
tis indeed! wonder if anyone ie edde can shed any light on this
they do pencils and markers too! ill get u some for xmas! can give ur corsa a paint job!

This would support Renault's claim that some Cup engines were bench tested. That's what i read anyway!

Can you also give me the rest of the savings I need for my next Clio ownage car...? Probably a Nissan 350Z.

I was under the impression it was a limited number of the trophies that got bench tested lumps, Phase 1s had generally better inlet manifolds. The fact that alot of the cups didnt have CC and therefore no AC compressor to turn might explain a general trend for slightly higher output on a RR. But as has been said a million times on here the manifolds etc vary so much the actual power the engines put out varies car to car regardless of cup/non cup etc.
This subject has been done to death though.
I'm pretty sure if the EVO-stat-loving, 1/4-mile-at-a-time merchants got laid they'd be less inclined to live a life akin to groundhog day.
My personal view is the CUps are more powerful only because there usualy been hammered more from new plus they have no power sapping air con system and less tensions to reduce power. After all hybrids are often the quickiest cars as they don't have PAS pumps on the cars either.would be interesting to know why this is the case, as honestly, every RR day I have been to Cups always make bigger power compared to any other 172's, so factor in the lighter weight and that would go some way to explaining why they are the quickest of the MK2's

However isnt the meggy the faster RS now?
^^^I think its all about std RS's matey ^^^
172cup - fastest
172 mk1 - most fun
the rest
alright
so thats why everyone overtakes you mike
