Hmm, black without a shadow of a doubt is best to detail. The reflections and depth of colour sometimes is incredible.
Red is one I have such a soft spot for, i've always loved red cars.
And one of my favourites is grey like on the newer stle M5's ect... so much flake pop although reflections and depth of colour isn't there it's still very rewarding.
I think the car and shape of the car has a lot to do with it. I'd rather do a horrible colour M3 than a clean black Citroen C3 or something equaly as bad.
Black cars are generally a pain in the arse to do, but when done properly, look awesome for it.
Red's always nice to do, the colour always comes out brighter than when you started.
Like Gally's said as well, the Grey BMWs come up really nicely, I've got some pictures from an M3 that I had this weekend, but flickr wants me to pay to put them up /tightfecker.
Already been said, but Racing Blue looks amazing when detailed. Even after just a shampoo, the paintwork looks so wet. Red also has to be a favourite..
For shine, perhaps, but for wet look/slick paint, flat colours are much better. Think flat reds, yellows etc. RB falls into that category. I don't get decent reflections on mine, but it looks like it's still wet from paint.
