Wheel sealant usage?

  turbo 182
I've just applied carbon collective platinum wheels on my refurbed tuirines I've put 2 coats outside and the inside of the wheel, the sealant bottle is 15ml and I've used around a 1/4 of a
bottle, is this about right?
I feel as if I've not used enough product? How much have others used that have coated tuirines or similar sized wheels?

Thanks

I typically use 7-10ml of a nano sealant to apply a single coat to 16/17" wheels inside and out.

The fact you managed 2 coats is impressive. but that in theory means hopefully you should have covered any gaps in the first coat. Unless you're planning on using it all up again anytime soon, it may go off / crytalise so may be an idea to put another coat if you have time to ensure even coverage.

It says the bottle can do 6-8 sets dependant on the size and seeing as you've done two coats and used 1/4 id say you've used the recommended amount. just check the full curing time as usually its a good few hours before applying a second coat.

Only issue I had was i couldn't see the sealant on the wheel as I applied, bottle says 3 drops on cotton pad and change to a new pad every wheel, 3 drops on the cotton pad was actually smaller
than the size of nail on little finger? I'm worried I haven't coated everything?
i don't want to have wasted my time and in a few months have little-no protection...

Curing time is 2 hours between coats so I may do a 3rd coat later?

or am I just been paranoid? LOL

thanks

3drops to coat an entire wheel seems a bit low. I apply it inside under light so you can see the greasy look it leaves behind. Not used the carbon collective versions so maybe these do spread that far

I'm well into my 2nd year of a single coating of GTechniq C5

yeah I did do it inside I'll have to go into another room in the house with better lighting and give them another coat,
platinum wheels is ment to last up to 2 years aswell, only reason I chose it over c5 was because I got a merino wash mitt from them
aswell

I wouldn't be supprised if platinum wheels
wasnt just rebranded c5 anyway

How have you found the durability of this product scooby-93.
I have it also but the weather has ruined my plans to crack on with it today.

I've only just applied it 2 weeks ago but so far so good! There is a chap unfollow on instagram that has a wheel sealant test going on his wheels and platinum wheels is still gojng strong after about 8 month now maybe more, so its as good as c5, as I've said before I wouldn't be suprised if it is rebranded gtechniqe

ive just taken the alloys off my old golf to sell it and they had C5 on them about 2 years ago and a quick wash and they're still coming up spotless. nano sealants for wheels are the only option for me
