When did phase 2 start

I am hopefully selling up my Fiesta zetec and getting a Clio 16v. What I want to know is when did the phase 2s come in, and why are they better. Cheers guys....

94 i thought was the start of ph2? i had a 94 RSi and it was phase 2. that was L reg.

no better really. only advantages are better sound proofing and slightly better rust protection, and the obvios fact its a slightly newer car. apart from that its just cosmetic really.
