When is it time to change the exhaust?

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
when should i consider changing my exhaust?

i have a standard exhaust for my 1.2, and have thought about upgrading the exhaust to an aftermarket one.

i dont think my car has had its exhaust changed since its birth, which has been 6 odd years already.

how long are standard exhaust usually last for?? coz mine has been going for 6 years! surely it'll break soon lol

No reason it should.

The 172 are different the rear box is to heavy for the design so they will fail in time.

depends on the type of driving, if ur only doing a few miles to the shops twice a week then probably 2 years due to the exhaust being constantly full of water (produced by the cat) and never getting hot enough to get rid of it, then rust from the inside.

Have a look at it, the point it will fail at is the weld/joints between the pipe and boxes(where its joined together) Normaly the back box falls off on small engined clios when its time, probably start blowing first tho

Cos it sounds utterly crap! And usually louder as well

Would i need someone to rev it to hear it?

and how much would it cost to get a standard one again?.. coz ideally i want to upgrade, but if its near enough the same price, i'll get a upgraded one rather than a standard 1 again
