Where is the MK1 alarm Siren

  330ci Conv
Just picked up my clio 172 a few weeks ago and wanted to know where the siren is? Yes.... silly question really but its not under the engine bay!!! I lock the car and the alarm sets but when its activated all the car does is flash the indicators. Looks like the siren is missing.

Where can I get one of these? How easy are they to fit on? Should I already have the cables somewhere in the bay?

Hope someone can help or I think I will put my concept 600 on the car.

Does anyone know any good alarm fitters in west london?

Its nder the front arch liner I think.
If your cars an import it might not have an alarm.
best way to check have you got sensors on he door pillars and a little red light down by the gearstick?
I don't think my siren goes off when I lock my car.
Try set the alarm off then you'll see if you've got a siren.

The car is a UK spec clio. The car has defo got the alarm as Ive taken the dash out and found the cobra brain under the airbag and I have the sensors and flashing red light by the gear stick.

I set the alarm off and the indicators just flash!! Should there be a siren of does it use the horn? I have no noise... great alarm system

How did you set the alarm off? Obviously without breaking a window!

I wanted to test mine.

^^^ leave your door open and push the button on your key, should go off eventually, or sit in the car, lock your doors and move around in the car that should work also.

Left a window open, locked the car then about 30-60 seconds later put my hand through the window. This triggered off the indicators. Would love to know who has stolen my siren.

You can with the Cobra computers switch off the siren I think so if the alarm was a problem somone may have just had it swithed off instead of fixing it.

The problems list is here

PS you have a Mk2 phase 1 172 the Mk1 Clio never came in 172 spec.
